can i just tell you how much i love feist? i really really do. one of my favorite things is to take a walk on a nice day, somewhere out in nature (my school has a really great nature reserve with winding trails) and listen to feist on my ipod. well, okay, it's a mix on my ipod. the trifecta: feist, yael naim, and kt tunstall. could it possible get any better? i submit that it could not! okay okay...maybe through in a little glen hansard and some beck and then! i'm in pure heaven.

Stuff White People Like
so i just spent the better part of today at a New Media conference the AWC tulsa put on. i learned a lot of new things, many of which i'm still processing and some of which, while i heard the words, i didn't understand the concept completely. like there was someone there at the roundtable discussions that was talking about Open Social and widget/gadgets and a lot of that flew right over my head. that guy (whose name btw is Redg Snodgrass from ICON technology solutions), told us about a site called Stuff White People Like. so what's the first thing i do when i get home? i go to that site. because i was promised hilarity. so if you are white, go there and you can laugh at yourself (or your other dorkier white friends). if you're not white, you might find some useful tips there for dealing with your white friends. and you will also laugh at the mostly true commentary about us white folks. as always, enjoy!

art directors of tulsa
last thursday was the monthly meeting for the art directors of tulsa. brady vest, founder of Hammerpress spoke and shared some of his work and inspiration. Hammerpress is a letterpress and design firm based in kansas city, MO. i love letterpress and find the whole process utterly inspiring. i think it would be very interesting, albeit expensive, to get in to. it's not a cheap hobby. i wouldn't mind doing an internship at their shop though :) here's some of my favorite pieces from their website:

the top ones are art prints and are smaller (call them either mini posters or giant postcards) and the bottom ones are posters. all of them are available for sale on Hammerpress' website. they also have some really neat stationary. i think i'm going to order the "Merde" one (which btw means "shit" in french) and the "Bonjour means hello and howdy" one. enjoy!
