i don't remember if i've mentioned in previous posts, but in july i moved to the northeastern part of oklahoma from texas. we are fortunate to be living in one of the few neighborhoods in town that has power. at this point, there's not ice on the roads (with the exception of the bridges) but there's ice everywhere else. our house is brand new so there are no trees in our yard (there's a field behind us with trees), but many of our neighbor's trees have split right down the middle like a banana peel in their front yard. these broken limbs are doing damage not only to houses, but also to power lines.
i have a lot of family up here and some of them have power, some don't but we're all taking care of each other. my heart goes out to those with no power that don't have a place to go. keep warm and i hope your power comes back soon. in the mean time, here's some images of our frozen land:
